How CredimusAi works
The AI does the heavy lifting. Your teachers review every result. Here's exactly what happens from the moment you scan a script to the moment grades land in your MIS.
01
Scan your scripts
Any scanner. Any handwriting quality.
You don't need specialist equipment. A flatbed scanner, a multi-function printer, or even a phone camera with a scanning app produces files CredimusAi can read. Handwriting quality varies widely across any cohort - shaky writers, fast writers, writers who fill every millimetre of the margin. Our OCR pipeline is trained to handle all of it, including crossed-out text and annotations in different colours.
What this means in practice
- PDF, JPEG, or PNG - all accepted
- Multi-page scripts supported as single files
- No minimum resolution requirement
- Batch scanning across a whole class or cohort
02
Upload to CredimusAi
Drag and drop. Batch upload supported.
The upload interface is built for speed during a busy marking period. Drag a folder of 30 scripts straight onto the upload zone and they queue automatically. You select the subject, the paper, and upload your mark scheme - or pick one already saved to your account from a previous session. The system confirms receipt of each script and flags any file it can't process before marking begins.
What this means in practice
- Drag-and-drop batch upload for whole class sets
- Reuse saved mark schemes across marking sessions
- Pre-upload file validation - no surprises mid-marking
- Progress tracking for large uploads
03
AI marks against your mark scheme
GCSE 9-1, A-Level, AQA, OCR, Edexcel.
CredimusAi reads each answer against the mark scheme you provided. It applies the same logic a trained examiner would: alternative acceptable answers, levels-based mark schemes, quality of written communication criteria, and synoptic marks. Every mark comes with a written rationale - a short explanation of why that mark was awarded, referencing the answer and the mark scheme point. You can see the AI's reasoning before you decide whether to accept or adjust it.
What this means in practice
- GCSE 9-1 and A-Level marking frameworks
- AQA, OCR, and Edexcel mark scheme structures supported
- Levels-based and point-based mark schemes
- Written rationale for every mark awarded
- Alternative acceptable answers recognised
- QWC and extended writing criteria applied
04
Teachers review every grade
Override, adjust, approve. Teacher is always final.
Nothing leaves CredimusAi without a teacher seeing it first. The review interface shows each script alongside the AI's marks and rationale. You can accept all marks with one click, adjust individual question marks, or override entirely and enter your own grade with your own note. Every change is logged. If a colleague reviews the same scripts later, they can see exactly what was changed and why. The AI is a first pass, not a replacement.
What this means in practice
- Accept, adjust, or override any mark
- Add your own notes alongside any change
- Full audit trail of all teacher decisions
- Flag scripts for second opinion or moderation
- Review by question or by student - your choice
05
Export to your MIS
CSV, SIMS-compatible, analytics dashboard.
Once marking is complete, export in the format your school uses. The CSV export matches SIMS import fields so there's no manual re-entry. The analytics dashboard shows class-level performance by question, topic, and mark band - useful for planning intervention sessions and writing department reports. Student-level feedback reports can be exported as PDFs to share with pupils or include in progress conversations.
What this means in practice
- CSV export for direct MIS import
- SIMS-compatible column structure
- Class-level analytics by question and topic
- Student feedback reports as PDF
- Department summary for data analysis meetings
- Historical data retained for trend analysis across mocks
Teacher Control
The teacher is always in control.
CredimusAi is a tool that saves time. It is not a tool that makes decisions. Every mark, every grade, every piece of feedback that reaches a student has been seen and confirmed by a qualified teacher first.
- No mark leaves the system without teacher approval
- Every AI decision includes a written rationale you can read and challenge
- Override any mark at any point - no restrictions
- Full audit log of every change, by whom, and when
- Flag scripts for moderation or second-marking review
- Student results are only finalised when you confirm them
- Your mark scheme defines the rules - the AI follows them, not the other way around
